Cellular Aging in Morphological Aspect (2024)
Media: Zbrush, Cinema4D, Adobe Illustrator
Description: My primary interest lies in reversing the aging process at a molecular level. Here I focused on how we can notice the biological time of the cell by depicting 4 morphological differences in cells as they age. To enhance visual interest and clarity, I incorporated the concept of gravitational time dilation. In this context, young and aged cells are portrayed as blue and sunset-colored planets, illustrating their distinct biological time observable in cell membrane and organelles.

Journal Cover Design: Quorum Sensing (2024)
Media: Autodesk Maya, Adobe Photoshop
Description: This journal cover design intriguingly illustrates the concept of bacterial communication known as 'quorum sensing.' Much like our voting system, bacteria release signaling molecules called autoinducers, enabling them to assess population density and make decisions on a community scale. As cellular density increases, the concentration of these molecules reaches a critical threshold, triggering simultaneous gene reprogramming related to functions such as releasing pathogenic factors, producing bioluminescence, controlling motility, and forming biofilms. Notably, pathogenic bacteria exploit this communication system to initiate infections within host organisms.

Bone Loss After Spaceflight: To Infinity and Bones (2024)
Media: Adobe Illustrator, Rawgraph, Tableau
Description: This exhibit delves into the challenges of bone loss faced by astronauts during long-term spaceflight, highlighting the emerging role of osteocytes in sensing mechanical forces and regulating bone health. It is created to inspire biomedical researchers studying bone loss at the molecular level and encourage their following research.
Maturation Phase Transient Reprogramming (2022)
Media: Adobe Illustrator
Description: It is a visual abstract reviewing the article about the technology that can reverse the age of skin cells. The overall process is aligned in a counterclockwise direction (follow the red arrow) to depict the process of defying the cell aging. The color and simplified shape of cells represent the morphological attributes of each stage based on the actual experiment. The concept of an epigenome clock is visualized as an analog clock to reflect the age of the cell, which can be determined by the H3K9me3 methylation level. The transcriptome clock is compared to the digital timer, as it is a concept about tracking whether a gene from a specifically selected model and gene set is switched ON or OFF.
